facilities are available to organizations wishing to
showcase graphics-intensive data in an aesthetically
pleasing environment using high-end computing and display
systems.
Visualization Theater
The theater has comfortable seating for 30 people.
It is equipped with three projectors that produce high-resolution
images on a 29-foot, curved, seemless screen. Input
devices include our Onyx2 supercomputer, DVD player,
VHS/SVHS VCR, and PC, all operated via a wireless touch
control system. Visitors are invited to display presentations
from their laptops by plugging into our theater system.
Conference Room
The Center also includes a comfortable conference room
equipped with a projector to display images from a PC
or videotape. Two classrooms, one of which includes
videoteleconferencing equipment, also are available
for client use.
Hardware
The centerpiece of the Simulation Based Design Center's
hardware is its Silicon Graphics Onyx2 supercomputer.
This eight-processor system is configured with 4GB of
RAM.
