Who
We Are
 The
Simulation Based Design Center (SBDC) is a non-profit
organization operating under the College of Engineering
of the University of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast Region
Maritime Technology Center (GCRMTC).
We are located in the Maritime Technology Center of Excellence
(MTCE)
adjacent to Northrop Grumman Ship Systems Avondale Operations
on the west bank of the Mississippi River, a few miles
from New Orleans.
Our
Focus
SBDC focuses on integrating advanced information technologies
and techniques to enhance design and engineering. Specifically,
SBDC views itself as a leader in the use of virtual
prototyping tools to support the development of moderate
to complex products and processes. The Center seeks
to validate and enhance the ideas inherent in virtual
prototyping and actively seeks out and assists companies
that can benefit from the practical application of these
technologies. To support these advanced methods, SBDC
maintains an impressive array of technical skills, subject
matter experts, world-class researchers, and state-of-the-art
facilities and hardware, software and networking equipment.
